Taking prospective students and parents around the University, showing and explaining to them what facilities are on offer. I tell them about student life, what it is like to live in Cheltenham, and answer any questions they ask. At the open days I also help set and pack up, man the registration desk, and talk to students in course talks. Also, I go into colleges and secondary school to do similar things as well as entice the students into coming specifically to my University.

APRIL 2007 – SEPTEMBER 2014: OFFICE ASSISTANT: DEVONSHIRE WINDOWS, PAIGNTON:

It is a window company run by my family, and so when I am home from University I help them out every so often when the office is short-staffed: sorting out invoices, answering the phone, making drinks, scanning, emailing colleagues to pass phone messages on, putting stamps on letters, photocopying.

JULY – AUGUST 2014: TEMPORARY SALES ASSISTANT (SUMMER): PRIMARK:

A job to fund my Masters and to gain retail experience; for this I worked in the fitting rooms, tidied up and worked on the tills. For this role, good customer service was key e.g. polite, happy, helpful.

JULY 2012: BAR/KITCHEN/SOFT PLAY STAFF: HOBURNE HOLIDAY PARK, PAIGNTON:

For this I worked in the bar working on the till, serving drinks, collecting glasses, tidying up. I also worked in soft play were I made sure the children were playing safely, and cleaned the equipment.

JULY – SEPTEMBER 2011: SUMMER STAFF: OGGY OGGY: THE PASTY COMPANY, PAIGNTON:

My role included: washing up, clearing tables, taking food out to customers, making teas, sorting out the rubbish and recycling, cleaning the kitchen, and running out to get milk and any other supplies needed.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND ACHIEVEMENTS:

DEVONSHIRE WINDOWS TWITTER:

I run the Twitter for the family business – creating content, interacting with other businesses and potential customers, sharing pictures, providing links to our website and Facebook page, advertising the products and services; thus to improve the national awareness of the company and help to create a friendly, professional, customer-satisfaction-orientated image.

RESEARCHER AND SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR (INTERNSHIP: APRIL - JUNE 2014):

One of my most valuable work experience opportunities I took part in was my internship at the Student Union, writing articles and submitting content to the website and social media for Greener Gloucestershire. I really enjoyed this, and it helped push me into the direction of wanting to do social media marketing as a key aspect of my future career.

I achieved this for the skills I gained through my role as a Student Ambassador.

BLOG/ARTICLE WRITER:

I am a student blogger for Endsleigh Insurance’s Student Hub website. I have written, and will continue to write various articles about student life. For this I have to have good writing skills and a creative mind.

I have also written a few articles for the Greener Gloucestershire website - this is a more formal and informtative (more like a report) style of writing. Article topics include the Furniture Recycling Project

MARKETING ASSISTANT (JULY 2013):

I gained some work experience at a local video production company where I had to research Vine and Instagram, then I had to research magazines and websites that the company could advertise their two latest videos on; I even managed to get one of the places to retweet the video I sent to them.
