I really love taking photos, like many people out there I suppose.

I take them for many reasons: to show, appreciate and remember an aesthetic landscape or thing, like a flower; to keep as proof or a reminder of a great day or night's activity.

I do it for myself, to document my life so that every so often I can look back and reminisce about that moment. I suppose it will be pretty useful for when my memory starts properly fading away. Although, some could say that, though only 22, that has already started happening, as I am so forgetful!

I also love being in photos as well, as it is not always far to be the photography after all.

I particularly love looking at photos from my childhood, hearing stories of what I was like and what we got up to. The picture displayed here is of me when I must have been somewhere around 2,3 or 4 years of age. And yes; I do look like a psycho child! A great picture that always makes me laugh and brighten my mood. Again, another reason why they're are great - to make you feel happy when you are down. Although, sometimes can slightly be the other way round, but in a good way, when looking at loved ones who have passed away.

But it is not just photos of me that I like looking at, but also friends and family, and hearing their stories; I was never really that into History at school, but I have found that the history I do like to learn about is people's history - their lives, their family's lives, their ancestors; leanring how they became who they are today.

This probably partly explains why I am always looking on Wikipedia at famous people's history - mainly film or music related though I must add; usually looking to see what other films they've been in and what ones they will be in soon.

I know for sure that when I have my own place the house will be filled of photographs everywhere! And I will have lots of photo albums too! I already have five I think - and there are still LOADS of photos I haven't printed yet! Which brings me to another thing; for the last five years at least I have put on my birthday and/or Christmas list - for 6x4" photos of me, my family and friends over the years - and the thing is I hardly ever get that - only the odd photo(s) in a frame - but I don't get why as with websites such as Photobox, and places like Tesco, you can printa load of photos of really cheaply. Instead I occassionally get presents I don't like, or ones I don't need! That's not to say I am not grateful, because I am. I do get some lovely gifts, but surely they would rather get me something I will appreciate and love, rather than something that I have dozens of, or really isn't my sort of thing, whene for often less of the price they could just print some of the photos they have and I will be thrilled.

Sorry, mini rant over. I guess this really does show how much I love having photos, having records of moments in time, to appreciate in the years to come, and share and chat, and laugh about with family and friends, and when I have children.

That's another thing; when I have children, they are definitely not going to be camera shy, as I will be taking photos and videos a lot! Documenting it all - to look back on in my retired days, to show my grandchildren, and of course to embarass them on big birthdays.

Are you a photo fan like me? Show proof if you are, or explain why you're not.
